Cosmetics with hyaluronic acid - why should you use them?

In every store, you will find new cosmetics that have "natural hyaluronic acid" in their composition. So it's no wonder that you are increasingly wondering whether or not to add them to your list of favourites. Hyaluronic acid has amazing properties. It moisturises, smoothes and gives the skin a youthful appearance. But these are not its only advantages

Hyaluronic acid – properties

Hyaluronic acid is an organic chemical compound found naturally in all animal tissues, including humans. It makes your skin smooth, elastic and resilient. Hyaluronic acid also has a remarkable ability to bind water molecules. This means that its regular use helps to moisturise the deep layers of the skin. This acid can also bind collagen fibres, which in turn inhibits the formation of wrinkles. Also, it slows down the ageing processes of the skin. It soothes inflammations and irritations. Using a good-quality cosmetic with hyaluronic acid you will get silky smooth and soft skin.

Hyaluronic acid in facial cosmetics

One of the most popular cosmetics is a facial serum with hyaluronic acid. The concentration of active ingredients is responsible for its unusual properties. Unlike creams, serums have a higher percentage of hyaluronic acid. They contain even a 3% solution in them, less often 4 or 5%. Creams contain no more than 2% of the substance. The type of molecules is also important. Hyaluronic acid can be macromolecular, micromolecular and ultra-micromolecular. The smaller the particles, the easier they penetrate the next layers of the skin. For example, a polymolecular acid only has the ability to form a protective film, thus preventing loss of moisture. And low-molecular acid binds it in the deep layers of the skin. It also has one property that is difficult to achieve with other ingredients in creams. Namely, it increases the penetration of active ingredients through the stratum corneum.

Hyaluronic acid in the face serum

Contrary to what might seem, the hyaluronic acid in a serum has no exfoliating or peeling properties. It also does not make the skin more sensitive to the sun. Quite the opposite. It deeply moisturises, nourishes and regenerates. When the first wrinkles appear on the face and the skin loses its firmness, the serum with hyaluronic acid will turn out to be irreplaceable. Such a cosmetic deeply and long-lasting moisturises all layers of the skin. In addition, it reduces water loss. Firms, tones and increases the density of the skin. The serum with hyaluronic acid is recommended for the daily care of even the most demanding skin. A good addition to facial cosmetics is sodium hyaluronate, which reduces wrinkles, smoothes the skin surface and moisturises it. Also, a good vitamin complex that neutralises free radicals and removes toxins from the epidermis. The best facial serums also contain the vitamins of youth - vitamins A, E and F.

When to use a serum with hyaluronic?

Dry skin prone to wrinkles will love hyaluronic acid. However, you can successfully use a facial serum with it even before you notice the first wrinkles. A deeply moisturised epidermis will make you look radiant every day. But the serum with hyaluronic acid is especially recommended for dry, dehydrated, flabby, mature, tired and dull skin. Such a serum can be used as an independent moisturising cosmetic, a base for a night cream or a foundation. You can also add it to homemade masks or creams.

You can also use the properties of hyaluronic acid for hair care. Just add a few drops to shampoo, conditioner, or a moisturising mask - applied directly to the hair.
